At Cork University Hospital a new helipad is planned, to be used for aeromedical ambulance services. This helipad is projected in a corner of the hospital premises, where currently a car parking area exists, and which is located very near to residential areas. Since relatively large helicopters are planned to be used, noise concerns existed. ANOTEC was contracted by RPS Group Ltd. to perform a detailed noise study for this case. A noise model was developed for both helicopter types, simulating the flight procedures designed for the operation at this helipad. The model was validated by comparison with measurements performed by RPS. The models were then used to predict the noise levels at specific receiver points and to determine the corresponding noise contours
